Currency Converter
Convert an amount between two currencies at an exchange rate you enter, in both directions.
Result…
How it's calculated
Converted = amount × rate (1 from = rate to) Reverse rate = 1 ÷ rate
This converter does not fetch exchange rates: you enter the rate, so the answer is only as current as your rate. Take the rate from your bank, card provider or a live market source; the rate you are actually charged usually includes a margin. Codes are the three-letter ISO ones, like USD, EUR, GBP or PKR.

About the Currency Converter calculator
This currency converter turns an amount in one currency into another at an exchange rate you enter, and shows the conversion in both directions. It does not look up exchange rates by itself, so the answer is exactly as current as the rate you type in. That makes it useful when you already have a quote from your bank, card provider or a money-transfer service and want to see what an amount really comes to, or to check a receipt after a trip. Currency codes are the three-letter ISO codes, such as USD, EUR, GBP or PKR. The rate you are charged in practice usually includes a margin above the mid-market rate, so use the rate from the provider you will actually pay.
How to use it
- Enter the “Amount” you want to convert.
- Type the “From currency” and “To currency” codes, such as USD and EUR.
- Enter the “Rate”: how many units of the second currency one unit of the first buys, taken from your bank or another live source.
- Read the converted amount, the reverse conversion and both rates.
Worked example
Using an example rate of 1 USD = 0.92 EUR (an illustration, not today's rate), $250 converts to €230. The reverse rate is 1 ÷ 0.92 ≈ 1.087, so €250 would be about $271.74.

Questions people ask
Does this converter use live exchange rates?
No. You enter the rate yourself, so the result is only as up to date as that rate. Take it from your bank, card provider or a live market source on the day you convert.
How do I convert currency by hand?
Multiply the amount by the exchange rate. If 1 USD buys 0.92 EUR, then 250 USD × 0.92 = 230 EUR.
How do I work out the reverse rate?
Divide 1 by the rate. A rate of 0.92 euros per dollar means 1 ÷ 0.92 ≈ 1.087 dollars per euro.
Why is my bank's rate different from the rate online?
Rates quoted online are often the mid-market rate. Banks and card providers usually add a margin or fees on top, so enter the rate they actually charge to see what you will pay.
Which currency codes can I use?
Any three-letter ISO currency code, such as USD, EUR, GBP, JPY or PKR. The codes only label the result; the rate you enter does the converting.
